| Abstract | History of the American Hereford Association with drawing of new headquarters building built at West 11th Street and Jefferson, including floor plans for all three floors. The Association began June 22, 1881; first Association Show in 1899 was held in Kansas City. On page 180 is photo of the residence of Charles Gudgell, Independence, Missouri, the first real home of the American Hereford Cattle Breeders' Association. Gudgell was the Association secretary from 1884 to 1887. Headquarters moved to 300 W. 11th Street, Kansas City, in 1920, after occupying various locations until then. |
