| Abstract | History of the Conservatory of Music and description of its tendency of procuring students from the Southwest heading to the East. |
| Notes | The Conservatory of Music was founded in 1906 by John A. Cowan. The office was in the old Ridge Building on Walnut (This building later burned.). The teachers had the pupils at their individual studios. A building was erected at 11th & Oak with quarters for studios on the two upper floors. After six years at the location on 11th & Oak, the Conservatory moved tot he former home of Judge Waldo at 1515 Linwood Boulevard. The property had 157 feet on Linwood and 240 feet on West Wayne. |
