AbstractDescription of early Kansas City settler James Burris Atkins, or James Atkins.
NotesJames Burris Atkins, [an] early settler of Kansas City, a man of modest means, in 1866 took $500 from his savings and bought a 48-foot lot that now comprises the ground occupied by the north part of the 6-story Boley Building at Twelfth [12th Street] and Walnut [Streets]. Its valuation is placed at $700,000. According to the local history index card, the Katz drugstore occupied this building in July 1968.
