AbstractPhoto and biographical article about Reverend Samuel Irvin, a missionary born about 1812 and moving in with Kansas Indians near Fort Leavenworth, Kansas about 1837, co-founding the town of Highland, Kansas, with Indian orphanages, etc., and his son Elliott Irvin born in 1838 as "the first white child born in Kansas [sic]."
