AbstractFile containing a photo and biographical article about street railway pioneers of Kansas City William Smith, Bernard Corrigan, and Nehemiah Holmes. Description of Smith as being born in New York in 1836 and coming to Kansas City in 1866 as a grain dealer before entering the street railway industry with the first cable cars in 1885 (as president of the Kansas City Cable Railway Company), lines on 8th Street and Troost Avenue, and residence at 3000 Troost Avenue before selling in 1894.
