AbstractArticle describes the efforts of historic preservationists to protect the home and factory of Kenneth Smith, a renowned manufacturer of golf clubs who died in 1977. Smith bought his Shawnee home, located on 71st Street, in 1933 and soon moved his business there from midtown Kansas City.
