AbstractThe first sixteen years of Mary Beeson's life are covered in this 18 page autobiography. She recounts family experiences with local historical events and figures, including bushwhackers, William Quantrill, and others. Manuscript also includes a pedigree chart tracing the ancestors up to Mr. Lester Merklin, great-grandson of Mary F. Beeson, as well as other miscellaneous materials pertinent to the autobiography. NotesMary F. Beeson was born December 14, 1848 in Illinois. As a young girl, she moved with her family to the area of the Kansas Territory that is now Johnson County. She died in Walla Walla, Washington on January 4, 1943.
