AbstractPhotos, illustrations, and information on the Young Men's Christian Association, or Y. M. C. A. in Kansas City, established here in 1860 (by Reverend W. M. Leftwich, pastor of the Methodist Episcopal Church at about 5th and Delaware Streets) after being formed in England in 1844. Descriptions and depictions of the various YMCA buildings here, including those Downtown (1887 at 9th and Locust Streets, 1907 at 10th and Oak Streets, both demolished) and elsewhere (1914 at 18th and Paseo Boulevards and later at 3800 Linwood Boulevard, etc.).
