TitleA Most Flexible Method
AbstractDiscussion of three recent Midwest building projects including the University of Missouri Kansas City's (UMKC) student union, a mixed-use project in Denver, and the Armed Forces Readiness Center at Fort Dodge in the Des Moines, Iowa, suburb of Johnston, Iowa. The students of UMKC voted to increase tuition to pay for the construction and operation of the new student union. All three projects used the design-build process. The UMKC student union design build was by McCown Gordon and Gould Evans. The union is 12,000 square feet and cost $30.6 million.
