DescriptionChristmas Postcard advertising Simplex typewriters
Historical ArticleRiding high in the sky on a big fir Christmas tree airplane Santa Claus holds a new Simplex typewriter in this 1911 promotional post card from the Jones D. G. Co. (now the Jones Store Company).

The legend describes the typewriters:

No. 1, Note size has all the capitals, figures, and necessary marks for punctuation, $1.00.

No. 2, Note size, with capitals and small letters, $2.00. No. 3, Full size, has all the characters of Standard Typewriters, $3.00.

The card was printed in Christmas colors and took a one-cent green postage stamp for mailing.
