Title: 11th Street, East from Wyandotte
Description: Postcard of 11th Street, East from Wyandotte
Historical Article: A photographic post card of an important downtown corner, Eleventh and Baltimore, is shown on this 1908 post card labeled Looking east on 11th from Fire Department.
Six firemen with fire equipment and horses are pictured opposite the Willis Wood theater, which shows interesting architectural detail by its designer, Louis S. Curtiss.
The theater site is now occupied by the Hotel Continental and has recently been in the news with the announcement of new ownership and plans for remodeling inside and out.
The tower on the tall brick building in the center of the picture is that of the old George B. Peck department store, recently razed to make space for a parking lot and restaurant.
