Article details the history of the First National Bank building at 10th and Baltimore which recently became the home of the Kansas City Public Library's Central Library. The building was designed by Thomas Wight and Edward Wilder and built in 1904. It remained a bank over the years, expanding the original space. In 2002 remodeling of the structure was started for the library's main branch which is due to open in April, 2004.
