William B. Evans

Description: Bio of William B. Evans (1806-1855), a native of Tennessee arriving in Jackson County in 1825 to become the builder of Kansas City's first tavern in 1839 at the foot of Main Street on the Levee. Owned nice home and held "fair grounds" on his farm with entrance at 12th and Campbell Streets.
