John E. Troup, "connected with the John Taylor Dry Goods company, was one of several state's witnesses to testify yesterday to the general good reputation of John G. Bennett, slain husband of Mrs. Myrtle Bennett." Mrs. Bennett shot and killed her husband John G. Bennett on September 29, 1929, in a quarrel over a bridge game. She was acquitted.
