Former residents and descendents of former residents are interviewed and describe the African-American community that was broken up after the flood of 1951 and the expressway construction that followed. A representative from the Wyandotte County Historical Museum states that Armstrong was named after Chief Silas Armstrong of the Wyandot Nation and that it became part of Kansas City, Kansas, in 1886.
