Biographical sketch of Henry Craig who was born in Kentucky in 1848, became a lawyer and moved to Kansas City in 1869. In 1876 he was "elected by a very large majority to the Missouri House of Representatives" and in 1881 "appointed police commissioner by Governor Crittenden." He founded in 1877 the Craig Rifles military organization in Kansas City and also involved "in ridding the country of the notorious 'James gang.'"
