Portrait and one paragraph of biography of William Clark (1770-1838), of Lewis and Clark expedition fame. He was born in Virginia and became a military officer, appointed with Meriwether Lewis to explore the Louisiana Territory in 1803, afterwards "appointed Brigadier General of the Militia of the Territory of Upper Louisiana" in 1807, governor of Missouri Territory in 1813, and the first "Superintendent of Indian Affairs" in 1822.

Biographical description of General John Charles Fremont, or John Fremont (1813-1890), a Western explorer and major Union general in the Kansas City area at the beginning of the Civil War, with description of his wife, Jessie Benton Fremont, or Jessie Fremont, and her father, Senator Thomas Hart Benton. Description of John's life and career, born in Georgia and becoming a math teacher and civil engineer in the 1830s, explorer of the West in the 1840s-1850s, and military general in the 1860s, as well as a senator from California and governor of Arizona Territory.

One side of the fold-out map is a road map for the state of Missouri showing pennant flags to give the locations of Sinclair Pennant Hotels or Taverns. These are located in Columbia, Springfield, Rolla, and the Saint Louis area as well as in Tulsa and Miami, Oklahoma. The eastern portion of Kansas, northeast corner of Oklahoma, far north of Arkansas and parts of western Illinois are also shown. Missouri towns and population are listed. The opposite side of the map contains a major recreational road map of the United States with a list of national parks and monuments, military parks, battlefield sites, and cemeteries. This side also contains pictures of dinasaurs and an explanation of why Sinclair uses them. Also has a United States mileage chart.
