Obituary for John Wilburn Davis, a decorated WWII fighter pilot and a founding member of the Heart of America chapter of the Tuskegee Airmen of America, Inc. Davis flew 53 missions and logged over 640 hours of combat duty during his military career. After WWII, he went on to own a franchise with the Standard Oil Company and would later become the first African American to drive for the Kansas City Public Transportation system.
