Article announces that the former Holiday Inn hotel located at 801 Westport Road will officially become the 816 Hotel as of May 22, 2014. Details of the nearly $500,000 renovation of the building are provided. A selection of the hotel's Kansas City-themed rooms are described, including: the Trans World Airlines (TWA) room, the National World War I Museum room, and the Mutual Musicians Foundation room. Doug Gamble, one of the hotel's partners, is interviewed and describes the project.
