The image depicts the clash between Union and Confederate forces that took place in Westport, Missouri on October 23, 1864. The original mural was completed in 1920 and is displayed in the Missouri State Capitol in Jefferson City.

Includes a short historical sketch and officers and members of the official board, trustees, etc. The vertical files in this collection were formerly a part of the department's regular vertical files.

The church was dedicated in October 1896, and the congregation has been called the oldest in Kansas City, initially meeting in the home of William Chick in 1836, and the original building on the site constructed in 1853.
Photograph of the Montrose Apartments building at the corner of 40th and Main Streets in the early 1980s, looking east from the intersection of Westport Road and Main. The building was designed by Shepard & Wiser and built in 1923. It was demolished in early 1998 and the site used for a parking lot. St. Paul's Episcopal Church stands to the south, across 40th Street.

Most of the items in this folder pertain to a Westport High School 25th class reunion held in 1963. These items include program events, rosters, and a reunion booklet. The folder also contains a printed daily program dated 1919 and a commencement program dated 1924. The vertical files in this collection were formerly a part of the department's regular vertical files.
Photograph of the intersection of Westport Road and Pennsylvania Avenue circa 1923. Wiedenmann Brothers Grocery Store, at 500 Westport Road, can be seen on the northwest corner of the intersection, and Doerschuk's Prescription Drug Store, at 501 Westport, is on the southwest corner. Signs reading "Mogul Overalls" hang on the building at 433 Westport, on the southeast corner, which was the home to Klein's clothing store. The northeast corner, a vacant lot at the time of the photo, was the original location of the pre-Civil War Harris-Kearney House, a hotel and later a private home, which was moved to a location several blocks away in 1922. It was replaced by a commercial building shortly thereafter.

Photos and article about the chronology of the Westport Presbyterian Church and its three incarnations, the first organized in 1835, moving "into a small brick building located at 706 Westport Rd." until 1895, then moving "into a new building located at the church's present location, 201 Westport Rd.," until destroyed by fire in 1903, then building and occupying the present (2000) building in 1904 also at 201 Westport Road. Description of the church's general history, including its organ, installed in 1905, membership ups and downs, and present functions, such as serving as "home to various non-profit organizations, including the Kansas City Chorale, the Historic Kansas City Community Foundation, and Irish and Lithuanian folk dance groups."
