A “Table of Distances” gives miles from Westport to places like San Francisco; Salt Lake City; Astoria, Oregon; Santa Fe; etc. It notes population of Westport in 1846 as 300 and in 1855 as 1500. It includes an inset map of Missouri, beginning around Jefferson City, and Kansas, showing rivers and roads, especially the Salt Lake City and California road.

The 1855 Spalding map of Westport, Missouri, which hangs in the Special Collections Department as of September 26, 1974, is on indefinite loan to the Kansas City Public Library from the Daughters of Old Westport. Background information on the map is found in the local clubs collection, "SC 8."
