Description: Photograph of the Montrose Apartments building at the corner of 40th and Main Streets in the early 1980s, looking east from the intersection of Westport Road and Main. The building was designed by Shepard & Wiser and built in 1923. It was demolished in early 1998 and the site used for a parking lot. St. Paul's Episcopal Church stands to the south, across 40th Street.

Title: Mabry Hall
Description: Photograph of the Mabry Hall building at 4112-14 Pennsylvania Avenue, circa 1980. At the time of the photo, the building was owned by Ace Dickinson, who operated Ace's Rock Shop and Museum on the ground floor. The building is arguably the oldest extant commercial building in Kansas City, with some claiming it was constructed in 1843. Other sources suggest a date closer to 1850.

Title: Four Thousand Main Building
Description: Photograph of the Four Thousand Main Building, at the southwest corner of 40th and Main Streets in the early 1980s, and a three-story apartment building at 4006-4008 Main Street. At the time of the photo, 4000 Main served as the headquarters for Sutherlands Lumber Company. The apartment building to its south was demolished in 2017.

Title: 3910 Main Street
Description: Photograph of a vacant building at 3910 Main Street, circa 1983. The building was originally a Denny's restaurant that closed in 1982. Rosie's Bakery and Deli opened in the building in 1983. Foolkiller Theater, on the northwest corner of 39th and Main, can be seen in the background of the image. The restaurant building and gas station to the north were demolished in 1998.
