The bank originally opened in this location in 1906, and in 1978, the building underwent a $300,000 renovation aimed at creating a contemporary version of the building's original facade. The building was torn down in July 2018 for a mixed-use development project.

Renovations to turn the building into a community center focused on senior citizens began in 1980, and the space also provided offices for the ballet and several other organizations.
