Biographical description of Allen Burr Harrison McGee, or Allen McGee (1815-1903), the second child and eldest son of James Hyatt McGee and Eleanor Fry McGee, coming to Westport in 1838 as a native of Kentucky. Residing at his farm "from Broadway to the State Line and from about 33rd Street to 39th Street" and engaged in western trade with his large brick house built in 1888 and later "incorporated in the Rochembean Hotel at 3736 Broadway."
