At the insistance of Jane Flynn and Barbara Potts, the Jackson County Historical Society began an effort to collect and preserve information about women. The Society today has 68 significant collections dealing with women's history. The article mentions the highlights of the collection and includes an interview with David Jackson, Director of Archives and Education for the Society. He answers questions concerning the collection effort and use. Illustrations include a photo of Nell Donnelly Reed and of a dress made by her clothing company and of Hazelle Hedges Rollins of Hazelle's Marionettes.
