Many guerrilla fighters such as "Bloody" Bill Anderson wore highly-decorated shirts made by sisters, mothers, and wives. Description of the Ali Kemp Educational Foundation (T.A.K.E.) founded by Roger Kemp in memory of his daughter Ali who was murdered at a Leawood swimming pool in June of 2002. The foundation provides girls and women ages 12 and older free hands-on self-defense training. Another activity is Ali's Runway, an annual prom fashion show and self-defense class "wrapped into one fun, educational event."

This women's club was founded by Sarah Coates and others to "associate themselves together for the purpose of mental improvement and the pursuit of a systematized course of study." The program for the evening was given by local historian Dory DeAngelo. Includes a photograph of the group.
