Short look at the roles played by Lucy B. Armstrong, Nancy Quindaro Brown, and Clarina Nichols, as well as the women active today in preserving the ruins of Quindaro. Clarina Nichols, called the ''Forgotten Feminist,'' was a ''conductor on the Quindaro UGRR [Underground Railroad]'' and co-editor of the Quindaro Chindowan newspaper.'' Nichols was also a ''successful representative at the Wyandotte Constitutional Convention, eventually winning women the right to vote in school board elections in Kansas six decades before 1921.''
