Article relates the story of a tract of land on the south side of the Missouri River between the ASB Bridge and the Kansas City Power and Light northeast generating plant. The abstract of title for the property states that Berenice Chouteau sold the land to Joseph Guinotte in 1853. The land was formerly an island which became part of the mainland. John Mensing owned the land at one time and made a lifelong fight to retain ownership.
