W. H. Jennens, located at 1616 Grand Avenue, is the only carnival float workshop in Kansas City, aside from the Priests of Pallace' den. During most of the year the factory is in the "business of manufactruing artistic and beautful ornaments for buildings, interior decorations for fine residences, 'compo' decorations for furniture and store fixture manufacturers."

Article discusses the abstract paintings of Curtis Simmons who also works as project designer and associate architect for BNIM Architects. His design of an "ellipse of dichroic filtered film on glass" that hangs in the atrium at the Bannister Federal Complex "has resulted in a deluge of awards and accolades for BNIM." (Includes photo of this art glass.) Simmons, originally from Colorado, moved to Kansas City seven years ago.
