Annetta "Cotton Candy" Washington, local blues singer, died December 25, 2007, at the age of 76. Her death was due to complications from a stroke. "She was a founding member of the Kansas City Blues Society...and was among the first women to be named an Elder Statesman of Jazz in Kansas City." Next year would have been her 40th year in the Kansas City music scene. Includes her picture.

Eulogy and remembrances for Kansas City R&B vocalist Jim LaForte (62) who passed away recently. Laforte was a founding member and leader of the Harling's Upstairs afternoon band in the 1980s. A memorial jam was held in LaForte's honor at BB's Lawnside Bar B Q on June 12, 2010.
