The six-lane bowling alley is adjacent to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in the Strawberry Hill neighborhood. The alley dates back to 1922 and is thought to be the only church-affiliated bowling alley still in operation in the Kansas City metro area.

Postcard image and short article on the former All Star Bowl at 6000 Independence Avenue. The former space-themed bowling venue featured "The Space Lounge," decorated with hanging planets, comets and rocket ships, as well as 24 automatic lanes, a pro shop, and children's playroom. It was one of four bowling alleys located in the Northeast neighborhood in the 1950s and 60s, including Allen Bowl, Northeast Bowl, and Sheffield Lanes.
