Description
-
Photo and article about the former Imperial brewery building that has become an "eyesore." Owner Lester Dean Jr., who acquired title to the building in 2007, says, "he's doing his best...to figure out how best to reuse the century-old building." The building is located at the south edge of downtown Kansas City just east of Cambridge Circle along Interstate 35. When the prohitibion of alcohol came into effect by the 18th Amendment in 1920, Otto Bresky "bought what by then was known as the "B" plant of the Kansas City Breweries Co. He turned it into a flour mill" that continued operation until the mid-1980s when the building was abandoned.
