Thanks to Kansas City voters who approved a quarter-cent sales tax in August 2001, Fire Station 23 at 4777 Independence Ave. is the latest station to receive upgrades to make it a modern and comfortable facility. A rededication ceremony was held on December 12 for the $4 million project. Article tells what the improvements were to the station and includes a picture of the station.
