Announcement of the "celebration of the sesquicentennial of Jackson County" in 1976 at Independence, with illustrations and description of the various Jackson County courthouses, starting with the first in Independence built in 1831 (remodeled five times by 1976) and including later ones in Kansas City, such as the first (at 2nd and Main Streets, built in 1872 and damaged in 1886 by a cyclone), the second (pictured, at 5th, Locust, Oak, and Missouri Avenues), and the third (the present "skyscraper courthouse").
