Inscription on the north wall of the building: "The law is over the magistrate; the magistrate over the people. Let the people obey the magistrate and the magistrate the law" by an anonymous author and "The strength of the republic is not in its material wealth, but in the loyalty of its citizens, who believe their government is just," written by a lawyer, Milton Schwind, 315 North Chelsea Avenue, Kansas City, Missouri. The inscriptions were chosen by Judge Battle McCardle.
