Treating Inmates In-House
-
Description
-
Article on the success of the new nurse program at Police Headquarters. Initiated by Chief Darryl Forte and Mike Schumacher, the program provides for nurses to staff Police Headquarters and treat inmates complaining of medical issues. The on-site nurse evaluations have cut down on the number of ambulances called to Police Headquarters and the number of escape attempts by inmates from ambulances, and have caught serious medical issues as well.
