Discovery of King Speech Lauded
-
Description
-
Months before his death in 1968, Martin Luther King, Jr. spoke at Kansas State University's Ahearn Field House to a crowd of more than 7,000 people. The recording was assumed lost after a fire destroyed the radio station building that housed the tapes later that same year. The recording resurfaced from a Wichita man who had requested the tapes years ago and stored it in his personal library. Article includes some highlights of King's speech.
