Obituary for Sam Molen who died at Girard, Illinois, on August 8, 2008, at age 92. According to the obituary, "Sam served as president of K. L. Broadcasting Corp. (KBEA-KBEY). He was a sports announcer for 30 years, including 17 years as sports director of KMBC, where he developed the 'Bowlin' for Molen' television program that ran 15 years. He also wrote and narrated a nationally syndicated radio sports feature and authored two sports books, 'They Make Me Laugh' and 'Take Two and Hit to the Right'." He joined Southgate Bank in 1969, becoming manager of the marketing division and retired as senior vice president. Includes his picture.

Obituary and tribute for Walton "Walt" Bodine, a native Kansas Citian and popular local broadcaster. Bodine got his start in the radio in 1940, subsequently working as an announcer, newscaster, reporter, news director, editorial writer, and talk-show host in both radio and television. He interviewed a number of influential people during his career including Thomas Hart Benton, Louis Armstrong, Robert Kennedy, and Harry S. Truman. He retired from his 30-year public radio program, "The Walt Bodine Show," in 2012. Bodine died on March 24, 2013 at the age of 92.
