Arts High School Finds Site in Downtown KC

The Kansas City School of the Arts, scheduled to open in August 2008, is negotiating the purchase of two buildings in downtown Kansas City. The buildings at 911-915 Broadway are located in the historic Garment District and have an asking price of $4.3 million. "The three-story Hershberger & Rosenthal Co. building at 915 Broadway was built in 1909, and the five-story Jay & King Hat Co. building at 911 Broadway was completed in 1904." The performing arts high school is sponsored by the University of Missouri and will focus on vocal and dance programs. Includes image.
