The Spring Valley Park that Once Was
-
Description
-
Postcard image of and short article about the Spring Valley Park, located between 28th St., and Woodland Ave., and 29th St., and Brooklyn Ave. With several natural springs and a lake, the area was a popular stopping point in the 1880s for Mormons traveling to Salt Lake City. The land was later acquired by the city's Park Board in 1902. After the lake dried up in the 1930s, tennis courts and a playground were constructed.
