Obituary for James Crawford Ward, or James Ward, "considered one of the finest amateur golfers in Kansas City history" as holder of the course record at the Kansas City Country Club dying at the age of 72 in 1973. Born in Kansas City as a "son of the late Hugh Thompson Ward, for whom Ward Parkway is named [sic], and the late Mrs. A.
