Scrapbook page containing eight advertising cards showing African Americans in various situations. Two of the cards are missing. The cards show:1. Two geese with bodies made of bags of tobacco and cotton flying over a man in a field. Card says: "Copyright. Richmond and Co., Buffalo, N.Y."2. A man holding a fishing rod sitting by a river on a large spool of "Clark's O.N.T. Spool Cotton." Caption says: "'I reckon dis yere's strong 'nuff suah.'"3. A woman fixing a man's tie as three children look on. Caption says: "Sunday. Yer looks Lubly Ephraim, and it all comes-using dat Higgins' Soap."4. A woman and some children opening the door to a visitor or salesman whose coat tails are being nibbled by a goat. Card says: "Compliments of the Domestic Sewing Machine Co."5. A man sitting holding a tambourine.6. Two people in "native" dress leading an elephant. Card says: "Soap Makers, Chicago. 'Blue India.'"7. A man singing.8. Three people and a cat kneeling on the floor looking at their reflections in a stove. Card says: "Rising Sun Stove Polish. 'I say Snow Flake, dat stove was blacked with rising sun. Did you eber see de like?'"

Scrapbook page containing eight advertising cards showing the following:1. A folded card with a man frowning that says: "The effects of using inferior and low grade Tobaccos." When you unfold the card the man looks happy and is holding a packet of tobacco. Inside says: "The result of using Wilson and McCallay's Standard 'Happy Thought' Wave Lineplug Tobacco."2. Three African Americans overwhelmed by the smell of a stove. Card says: "See here Pompey, dat paste polish am no good de smell am so bad, run you right away fetch me de Rising Sun, dat will make me glad."3. A round stove.4. Two women in a park looking at a magazine.5. A dog dressed as a man, carrying a tray of meat.6. Three people and a cat kneeling on the floor looking at their reflections in a stove. Card says: "Rising Sun Stove Polish. 'I say Snow Flake, dat stove was blacked with Rising Sun. Did you eber see de like?'"7. A woman and man standing together.8. Scrapbook page containing eleven advertising cards. Four small cards are cut to the shape of their image and show three cats and a dog. The other seven cards show the following:1. A girl picking apples. Card says: "Use Acme Soap .."." Best bar soap made."2. A girl in fancy hat and collar. Card says: "Muzzy's Corn Starch. Purity." Lower left corner has number I 65 and right corner says: "Shober and Carqueville, Chicago."3. A clown running from his shadow. Card says: "Middleboro Skating Rink, Town Hall, Middleboro, Mass..."""4. Ten African American children and babies gathered around an old man in a rocking chair next to a stove. Card says: "What Uncle Obadia says about Dixon's Stove Polish. Dixon's Carburet of Iron Stove Polish. Copyright 1887."5. A short, fat man with cymbals and a tall, thin man with a flute or whistle. Card says: "The Latest Importation, Coney-Island Musicians." Compliments of Bush and Bull, Largest Dry Goods Dealers, 305, 307, 309 and 311 Northampton St. Easton, Pa."6. A British, a Confederate, and a Union soldier holding hands and dancing around an obelisk marked "Bunker Hill." Next to them a grave says "Hatchet." and three dates are marked on card: 1861, 1776, and 1876.7. A woman sitting on a bench under a tree with a man in uniform.
