Esther McMurray began working there in 1966 as day manager, and later she and her husband purchased the business in 1980. This DQ has operated in this location for over 45 years. "The Bannister Federal Complex, where nuclear bomb parts are manufactured, will not be placed on a special Superfund cleanup list, regulators told The Star." It is believed that the agreement "will allow the complex to clean up the hundreds of chemicals that have been spilled at the site over years." Bomb parts for nuclear weapons have been built at the Bannister complex since the 1940s. The plant is operated by Honeywell Federal Manufacturing & Technologies.
