Old Aladdin Makes a Wish: TIF For Rehab
-
Description
-
The 80-year-old Aladdin Hotel located at 1215 Wyandotte is to be remodeled and opened in early 2007. The hotel known as the Citi Centre Plaza has been closed since February 2004. Wright Investment Properties Inc. is going before the TIF Commission at their Dec. 14, 2005, meeting to try and get a subsidy for $4.65 million or about one third of the $15 million cost. The hotel has 195 rooms and hopes to affiliate with Holiday Inn and be a "midservice, midscale" hotel, cheaper than the downtown Marriott and the Hilton.
