W. H. Jennens, located at 1616 Grand Avenue, is the only carnival float workshop in Kansas City, aside from the Priests of Pallace' den. During most of the year the factory is in the "business of manufactruing artistic and beautful ornaments for buildings, interior decorations for fine residences, 'compo' decorations for furniture and store fixture manufacturers."

His design of an "ellipse of dichroic filtered film on glass" that hangs in the atrium at the Bannister Federal Complex "has resulted in a deluge of awards and accolades for BNIM." Its local projects include the spire on One Kansas City Place, the Sky Stations on Bartle Hall, and the Kansas City Star press building. The Smithsonian's National Museum of the American Indian and The National Building Museum in Washington and The Museum of Glass in Tacoma, Washington, are among its many installations elsewhere.

Mineral Hall at KCAI

Short article about Mineral Hall (4340 Oak St.) and its ornate front entrance, billed as "the most photographed door in Kansas City." Mineral Hall was built in 1903 by architect Louis Curtiss. It was originally the home of mining magnate Roland Bruner but is now part of the Kansas Cit Art Institute.
