Article in series "Catalysts," marking 25th anniversary of Kansas City Business Journal, discusses Phil Kirk's early and key role in the revival of downtown Kansas City. Working with Bill Deramus he designed a "West Side Strategy" to keep and bring back businesses to downtown. He was instrumental in saving the Folly Theatre and making the Central Library possible in the renovated First National Bank.
