History mainly of Hospital Hill, home of the city's first public hospital in 1870, but now a complex including Truman Medical Center, Children's Mercy Hospital, Western Missouri Mental Health Center, the Kansas City Health Department, and the University of Missouri-Kansas City medicine-related schools.
