According to information found in the scrapbook, a military musical was sponsored by the Kansas City Chapter of the DAR at the Whipple home in honor of Battery D. Mrs. Whipple was the sister of Marvin Gates, the company's captain.

Exterior lawn, pageant scene. According to an advertising announcement in the scrapbook, a military musical to benefit Battery D. Mo. F.A. was held in conjunction with the Kansas City Chapter of the DAR at the B. T. Whipple residence located at 4538 Warwick Boulevard. Scene depicts a pageant. The program included a patriotic pageant, dances, a patriotic address, hymns, drills, etc. Apparently Mrs. Whipple's brother, Marvin Gates, was captain of the Company. Admission was $.50. Dance students of Miss Helen Thomes performed and may be included in this image.

The cadet corp of Westport High School did a military drill and may be the individuals shown in this image.
