An unused Kansas City Southern bridge built in 1892 joining the East and West Bottoms will be moved to the Freight House District. "Kansas City Southern is donating the bridge. Kansas City Terminal Railway is actually doing the project over its tracks. The Freight House is donating an easement in its parking for the north end of the bridge. Union Station is making room for the south end to empty into the Sprint Festival Plaza, or north waiting room." The bridge is known as the Penncoyd bridge after the company that manufactured it. Moving the bridge down Grand Avenue will be a challenge. Article includes a diagram of how it will look when in place.
