Photos and description of the change in the structures and streets at the intersection of Main, Delaware, and 9th Streets (formerly known as the Junction and removed of Delaware Street) from just after the Civil War (with only wooden buildings) to the Diamond Building (built about 1870 by Samuel Vaughan), its replacement about 1915 by the Westgate Hotel (demolished in 1954 with the street straightening), and replacement by the Muse of the Missouri fountain, TenMain Center, and Commerce Tower in the late 1900s.

Photos, illustrations, and information on the Junction of 9th, Main, and Delaware Streets, originally the site of the Elijah Jackson farm house in the 1840s and after the Civil War becoming the hub of Downtown Kansas City as the site of Vaughan's Diamond Building (built in 1870 and demolished in 1915) and later hotels until elimination of Delaware Street and adjacent buildings under street and building renovations from the 1950s to 1970s, with replacement in 1963 by the Muse of the Missouri statue and fountains.
